Our family at Alpaca Expeditions remains firmly committed to our mission of connecting future generations with their cultural heritage through our Cultural Sundays. On this occasion, on September 1st, 2024, we organized an exciting journey for 15 children of various ages from the Santa Rosa School in Chillca-Palomar, Ollantaytambo District, Urubamba Province, Cusco Region – Peru. Our goal was to give these young individuals the opportunity to experience a day filled with adventure, knowledge, and learning while exploring three of the most iconic archaeological sites in our region: the Salt Mines of Maras, Moray, and Ollantaytambo.
During the tour, the children not only discovered the beauty and complexity of these ancient Incan marvels but also deeply connected with their cultural legacy. Every step through the salt mines, every story told at Moray, and every corner explored in Ollantaytambo reinforced in them a sense of pride in their roots. This journey was not just an excursion but a transformative experience that allowed them to further identify with and value their heritage, ensuring that the knowledge and respect for their culture remain alive in their hearts.
Through initiatives like our Cultural Sundays, Alpaca Expeditions continues to plant the seeds of cultural pride and love for our history, inspiring young people to be the guardians of our ancestral legacy.
