5 day /4 Night Luxury Inca Trail Hike
We had an incredible experience with Alpaca Expeditions on their 5-Day/4 night Luxury Tour. From beginning to end, the entire team went above and beyond to make our trek truly unforgettable. A very special thank you to our guide, Alvin, who was absolutely wonderful. He was knowledgeable, patient, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure we were comfortable and enjoying every part of the experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide! The porters, chefs, and masseuse were equally amazing. Everyone worked incredibly hard behind the scenes and was always attentive to our needs. The food was fantastic, the service was exceptional, and we were continually impressed by how much care went into every detail. The entire Alpaca Expeditions team made a challenging and memorable adventure feel incredibly special. We are so grateful to Alvin and the whole crew for taking such wonderful care of us. Highly recommend!
Unforgettable experience
Thanks to Raul and Kenyo we had an unforgettable experience, something we will never forget. From the pick up from our hotel in Cusco until the drop off, everything was perfect. The accommodations were good, the food was fantastic. The only thing we had to think off was completing the trek each day.
A memorable experience!
If you plan on doing this trek Alpaca Expeditions are the people to do it with. Their organisation and staff are excellent. Our guides, Edward and Walter, were knowledgeable, attentive and extremely supportive of trekkers with different walking abilities. Every effort was made to make the group as comfortable as possible, since the trek itself is definitely arduous. The rooms at each stop were comfortable (though the toilets could do with some attention!), the variety of food at every meal was admirable, and the support staff extremely well organised. On each day Edward gave us a wonderful talk on various topics regarding Peru, like the region we were travelling through, the history of the country, etc., which we appreciated and greatly enjoyed. Our group comprised of people from different parts of the world and different age groups (and different walking abilities!), but it was a friendly, happy gang that added to the whole memorable experience of the trek.
Broken but Lifted: A Journey to Machu Picchu
Alpaca Expeditions – 4‑Day Inca Trail I rarely write reviews, but this experience changed my life, and I need to share it. On Day 2 of the Inca Trail, after relentless rain, I slipped and fractured my tibia. At first, it looked like a sprain, but I couldn’t stand, couldn’t walk, couldn’t move forward on my own. In that moment of fear and helplessness, Wilbert never left my side, and Javier stepped in with a kind of leadership and compassion that I will never forget. Javier made the impossible possible. He arranged a stretcher, gave me therapy and Inca medicine, and kept my strength up with food and encouragement. But what struck me most was his determination: he knew this was my dream, 20 years in the making, and he was not going to let me lose it. The team carried me literally. At 200 lbs and 6 feet tall, they piggybacked me across flat sections and lifted me on a stretcher through steep climbs. They didn’t just get me to Machu Picchu; they gave me back my dream. And while I was broken and vulnerable, Javier took care of my wife. He encouraged her, built her confidence, and treated her like family. When she reached the Sun Gate, he told her she had arrived at “Intipunku.” She felt like she had won the Amazing Race. That moment meant more to me than anything. This wasn’t just a trek. It was a transformation. I now have a new family: Javier, Wilbert, and the dozen porters who carried me with strength, dignity, and heart. These men don’t just haul gear they carry people’s dreams. Javier didn’t stop at Machu Picchu. He arranged an ambulance to the hospital in Cusco and made sure I received the medical care I needed. If you’re wondering whether Alpaca Expeditions is the right choice, let me tell you this: they don’t just guide you to Machu Picchu they protect you, lift you up, and treat you like family. They gave me my dream, and they gave my wife her victory. For that, I will be forever grateful.
Choquequirao + Machu Pichu 6D/5N Tour
I did the 6 day 5 night Choquequirao + Machu Picchu tour with Alpaca Expenditions in September 2026, and it was one of the greatest things I've ever done. Henry our main tour guide was fantastic and extremely caring, I got a stuffy nose and killer headache on day 2 and he gave me some medicaiton right away and made sure that I was feeling okay. The cooks and porters were extremely friendly, and the campsite views were incredible. Alpaca Expeditions is a must use tour company and I will definitely book with them again the next time I am in Peru. 10/10 experience with Alpaca Expeditions.
